after three months agonizing over where and how to get my hair cut, i marched into a salon today and made an appointment. i thought it was for four pm tomorrow, but naturally it was for four pm today, and i missed the call from the salon asking where i was. should i call them back and reschedule or die of embarrassment and go somewhere else?

maja: ...we need new hope. we need to break away from the postmodern heritage, to bury it deep and move on. it is our responsibility now to build the new and to step boldly into the 21st century.
fredric: postmodernism may be a fantastic thing to invent and discover, with all its fragments and contradictions. but to inherit postmodernism, as we have done, is impossible and cruel. what are we supposed to do with all these parts? what are we to do with the hopelessness conjured up by a completely disintegrated world?
